Google Maps
Configure free tiles or the official paid SDK
Mode
✅ Free tiles active — using Google public CDN. No billing, no account required.
🔑 Official SDK mode — requires a Google Maps JavaScript API key.
Get a free key → Google Cloud Console
· Enable: Maps JavaScript API + Tile API
· USD 200 free credit/month (~28,000 map loads)
When to upgrade from Free → SDK: When Google blocks tile requests (map goes grey),
or when you have >200 concurrent users, or enterprise clients require a guaranteed SLA.
Switching takes 1 click here — no code change needed.

Gaode Maps 高德地图
Best accuracy for mainland China. Configure free tiles or official SDK.
Mode
✅ Free tiles active — using Gaode public CDN. No billing, no account required.
🔑 Official SDK mode — requires a Gaode Web JS API key.
Get a free key → 高德开放平台 (lbs.amap.com)
· Register with phone number · Select "Web JS API" · Free tier is generous
Note: Gaode maps are designed for China coordinates (GCJ-02 datum).
Vehicles outside China will have slight coordinate offset (~500m) in Gaode view — this is normal.
Switch back to OSM/Google for non-China regions.

Traffic Layer
Show real-time traffic flow on top of the map
Traffic provider
🆓 TomTom free tier: 2,500 tile requests/day — enough for ~5–10 active map users.
Get a free key →
developer.tomtom.com
· Register free · Create app · Copy API key · No credit card needed
How it looks: Green = free flow · Yellow = slow · Red = heavy traffic · Dark red = standstill.
Traffic tiles appear as a semi-transparent overlay on top of your selected base map.
🌐 Google traffic uses the official Maps JS API — requires Google SDK mode and API key configured above.
Note: Google traffic layer is automatically enabled when you switch to Google SDK mode above.
No extra key needed — it uses the same Google Maps API key.
